Why have a web site?

There is an interesting article written by Kim Holmes entitled, “What Can a Community Website Do for Your HOA?”  In this article Kim describes the benefits as well as 14 key items to include on the web site.  She writes, “Community websites can be a great way to share important, timely HOA information as well as a great way to foster a sense of community among homeowners.

Not everything on Kim’s list is applicable to Grandbay (i.e. we don’t have a pool), but there are a lot of other good ideas.  If you would like to read the article in its entirety please click on this link:

What Can a Community Website Do for Your HOA?

Here are the 14 ideas on Kim’s list from the article.  Some are already on our web site, but we might want to add or reformat the layout for Grandbaycourt.com so that it provides our members with all the benefits that an HOA website has to offer.

Here’s a list of 14 key items to include when developing your community website:

1.    Welcome page for new homeowners

2.    Community news

3.    Community Rules and Regulations

4.    Governing documents

5.    Architectural forms

6.    Amenity information including pool hours, where to pick up keys, etc.

7.    Trash removal schedule

8.    Calendar of events

9.    Board member information

10. Board meeting minutes (This was in bold in the article)

11. FAQs

12. General information i.e. emergency phone numbers
